Update: King Estates Shooting The Oakland Police Department (OPD) was notified by the Alameda County Coroner's Office that the cause of death for Kazuhiro David Sakurai, was “Complications of Gunshot Wound.” Sakurai was shot at the King Estates school campus on September 28, 2022. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating an officer-involved shooting (OIS) that occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on February 24, 2025, in the 900 block of 92nd Avenue.
