Today, Fairbanks will only see 3 hours and 41 minutes of daylight, and the sun will only rise 2° above the horizon. You may notice the distorted appearance of some of the hills and buttes south of Fairbanks. This is a Fata Morgana, which was created by strong temperature inversion present over Fairbanks.
