The Chairman, Rajya Sabha, is the ex-officio Chairman of the Committee. The functions of the Committee are to consider and advise on such matters concerning the affairs of the House as may be referred to it by the Chairman from time to time.
The Committee on Government Assurances in the Rajya Sabha is constituted under rule 212A of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Rajya Sabha.
