Feb 8, 2022 · I considered keeping optimum since we had a decent deal for 1 gig cable but if we can count as a new customer after that time I’d gladly cancel. Especially since fiber is in our area, for less than I’m paying now for cable of the same speed, but only for new customers (existing ones can’t even switch to it for a higher price).

May 30, 2024 · I signed for Optimum at a store. They assured me my address was already set up. So I picked up my router and headed home. Never could get it to set up. Spent the next hour or so with customer support. They insisted they could see the router, checked all the settings, and still couldn’t get it to work.

I told them they have to call and threaten cancellation. I don’t know what else we can do but that. Still, they refuse to give the new customer rate 😞

Aug 28, 2022 · Since Optimum bought Suddenlink, I've seen prices advertised as $80 for gigabit speeds. I went on the Optimum website and went through the whole new customer signup process, and confirmed for myself that gigabit internet is only $80 for new customers, and doesn't say anything about being a temporary price that'll later go up.

May 8, 2021 · Yearly call Customer care 877-936-4778 and tell them that you will leave the company if they don’t give you a new promotion ( see next ) If your bill is too high, CANCEL the service and open a new account under a new name, could be your wife, older son and you will be able to get one of the promotions at Optimum.net.

Jan 15, 2023 · I have been an Optimum customer for over 20 years. I am paying $89.99 plus taxes for internet service. Optimum is now promoting a new Fiber service at rates of $40/$60/$80 and I am not eligible for any of them because they are only valid to "new residential customers".
