Lois the elephant was euthanized Tuesday after suffering escalating health issues, according to officials with the Kansas City Zoo.

Lois, an African elephant who has called the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium home for more than 40 years, has died.

This evening is designed to create a calm and supportive environment for guests with all disabilities, according to the Memphis Zoo.

Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo announced its first orangutan pregnancy in more than a decade. The zoo said Ruby, a 26-year-old Bornean orangutan, is expecting the infant in February 2026.
