Nissan said in its announcement that a failed engine can lead to a “loss of motive power" and increase the risk of a crash.

A manufacturing deficiency has caused Nissan to recall over 480,000 vehicles across the U.S. and Canada. According to the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the affected vehicles include the 2019-2024 Nissan Rogue, 2019-2020 Nissan Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50 and 2022 Infiniti QX55.

In a recall notice posted with the the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Nissan said it had identified bearing failures in certain vehicles. Nissan is recalling 443,899 vehicles in the U.S., the notice shows. In Canada, 37,837 are affected, a Nissan spokesperson told the Associated Press.
