Actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for playing Theo Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," has died. TMZ and the Associated Press have reported that Warner died due to an accidental drowning while vacationing in Costa Rica. Warner was swimming at Playa Cocles in Limon province when a current pulled him deeper into the ocean.

Perhaps arguably some of the most iconic Theo moments on The Cosby Show involve him and his friend Cockroach, portrayed by actor Carl Anthony Pane III. For Season 2, Episode 15, Theo and Cockroach have a test on Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and so they decide to read the condensed version rather than the actual assignment.

Some of the greatest lessons about growing up and what it means to be an adult I learned from—or, rather, through—Theo Huxtable. The middle-child sibling on The Cosby Show, Theo was a conduit for the modern teenager in the ’80s and ’90s: a sense of entitlement and arrogance permeating the usual haplessness that accompany coming of age.
