Lynn Hamilton, a Chicago Heights native who had recurring roles in several late-20th century sitcoms, has died at 95.
"Sanford and Son," which aired from 1972-77, revolved around widower Fred Sanford, an irascible junk dealer in the Watts area of LA who foisted work and insults on his long-suffering son, Lamont.
Sanford and Son, which made its debut last night on NBC-TV, was a warm, funny show. Another new situation comedy series, the Don Rickles Show on CBS, had no warmth and provided only limited diversion.
