One week after the sudden closure of SeaQuest in Roseville, a plan is forming to relocate hundreds of animals that remain inside the aquarium at the Rosedale Center shopping mall.

After declaring bankruptcy and failing to sell for a discounted price, interactive aquarium chain SeaQuest appears to have closed its Roseville location at Rosedale Center. SeaQuest Roseville, which was investigated by state and federal agencies, no longer appears on the SeaQuest website and according to Google is “permanently closed.”

Animals from the recently closed SeaQuest aquarium and petting zoo in the Rosedale Center could be headed to the Minnesota Zoo or other facilities licensed to receive them. A trustee appointed to handle affairs for the bankrupt chain of indoor aquariums is working with the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) to find new homes for hundreds of animals still inside the Roseville location,
