Cyclone Fengal, which made landfall along the Puducherry-Tamil Nadu coast on November 30, weakened into a deep depression on Sunday, but heavy rainfall under its influence caused flooding in several parts of Puducherry and parts of Tamil Nadu.

According to the latest updates, schools and colleges in some parts of Tamil Nadu will remain closed due to heavy rainfall. Schools and colleges will be closed in Karaikal and Puducherry and also a few parts of Chennai.

The IMD reports a depression (remnant of Cyclone Fengal) over north coastal Tamil Nadu & Puducherry, moving west-northwest.

Amid persistent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, authorities have ordered the closure of schools across several regions in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala. The precautionary measure aims to ensure the safety of students amid challenging weather conditions caused by Cyclone Fengal.

"Now the cyclone had crossed so actually our focus is now shifted to restoration of whatever the damage has been done. There were heavy rainfalls until now. In some areas, 56 centimeter rainfall has taken place from yesterday morning at 8.
