It was a weekend to forget for the Mets. Sunday afternoon’s 9-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field marked the Mets’ most lopsided defeat of the year. It capped the first series in which they’ve been swept all season.
Shane Baz se combinó con tres relevistas para permitir solo cinco hits, y los Rays de Tampa Bay blanquearon el domingo 9-0 a Nueva York para completar la primera serie

Shane Baz combined with three relievers on a five-hitter, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat New York 9-0 on Sunday to complete the first three-game series sweep of the Mets this season. Baz (6-3) allowed three hits and four walks in 6 2/3 innings while striking out six and throwing a career-high 106 pitches.

The Rays made it a clean sweep of the previously major league-best Mets on Sunday, rolling to a 9-0 victory. A three-run second inning that included one hit out of the infield, a two-run double by Jonathan Aranda and a three-run homer by Junior Caminero provided most of the offense.
After Sunday’s miserable 9-0 loss to the Rays marked their first time getting swept all year, the Mets are finally facing something resembling adversity.
