He said Maryland is making progress on public safety and that using the National Guard for “municipal policing purposes is not sustainable, scalable, constitutional, or respectful.”

President Donald Trump clapped back at Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Sunday, threatening to “send in the troops” to Baltimore in a lengthy social media post.

Trump has already deployed National Guard troops to Washington, D.C., and is openly discussing sending troops to other cities.
