NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two inmates who escaped the Orleans Justice Center earlier this month were captured in Texas and returned to Louisiana on Friday, authorities confirmed.

There are no concerns for public safety,” a State Police spokesperson told WWL-TV in an email. “This is an ongoing investigation.”

Kenner, chairs the Louisiana House committee that oversees criminal justice issues. She has been hired by the Louisiana Fraternal Order of Police.

Louisiana authorities named the latest inmates who were recaptured as Lenton Vanburen, Leo Tate and Jermaine Donald. Jail escapees Dkenan Dennis, Corey Boyd, Gary C. Price, Kendell Myles and Robert Moody were previously taken into custody by authorities.

Authorities announced that a fourth inmate has been apprehended after escaping from a New Orleans jail on Friday with 6 other inmates.

Louisiana State Police have arrested six more people accused of helping some of the inmates who escaped the Orleans Parish Jail. Diamond White, 21-years-old, is facing charges of principal to aggravated escape and obstruction of justice in connection with helping escaped inmate Antoine Massey. Massey is still on the run.
