HOUSTON — A measles outbreak in the South Plains and Panhandle regions of Texas continues to escalate, with the Texas Department of State Health Services now reporting 327 confirmed cases on Tuesday morning, March 25, since late January.

The measles outbreak that began in the South Plain regions of Texas has swelled to more than 370 cases in three states.

A measles case in a Houston infant has been confirmed as the third case of measles in the city, according to the Houston Health Department.

The third case, an unvaccinated infant, comes two months after the health department confirmed the city's first two cases of measles since 2018. Those previous cases were two adults who lived in the same household and were unvaccinated.
