Horwitz was dealt to the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday and then was further flipped to the Pittsburgh Pirates.

DALLAS — The Guardians can’t stop trading. A couple of hours after sending Gold Glove second baseman Andres Gimenez and right-hander Nick Sandlin to Toronto for infielder Spencer Horwitz and Class A outfielder Nick Mitchell on Tuesday night, they turned around and sent Horwitz to the Pirates.

The Pittsburgh Pirates hope they found their long-term solution at first base. Yet there are more questions than answers about the three-way trade they made with the Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night at MLB’s Winter Meetings at the Hilton Anatole.
