July has already been more humid than average, and now another, less obvious factor will enhance humidity this week: corn sweat. Like a person breathing, corn exhales water vapor through its leaves — a process called evapotranspiration — which exacerbates humidity in agricultural regions during the summer.

Evening - Lows fall to the mid 70s. The heat will get worse before some relief is on the way. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the hottest days of the forecast with highs both days in the upper 90s and the “feels like temperatures” hovering around 110º.

After a warm, humid morning in the middle 70s, spotty storms develop Saturday, mainly during the afternoon and evening. This is not a "cancel your plans" kind of rain, but rather a chance you may experience a short-lived downpour.

It will be a hot start to the weekend, but we’ll add a few more degrees Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will rise into the low-90s on Sunday and Monday. When accounting for the high humidity, it will feel like 100-110 degrees both days. That is why they are First Alert Weather Days.
