Auburn will host the No. 2 and No. 3 teams in the FPI rankings this season in Alabama and Georgia. Both teams are projected to win ten games and play in the College Football Playoff. Auburn has not beaten the Crimson Tide since 2019, and it has been even longer since they beat the Bulldogs. The last win over Georgia was in 2017.

A key moment in the offseason is here as ESPN has revealed its preseason 136-team college football rankings, a big pile of analytics that includes, among other metrics, a preliminary strength of schedule rankings for every team in the country.

FPI views the SEC as the strongest conference in football since the SEC has the top three teams and five of the top 10 teams in the FPI rankings. The Big Ten has three top 10 teams, the ACC has just one, and Notre Dame rounds out the list.
