Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said the answer to the question of who will lead the state as Chief Minister “will be given soon.

After Mahayuti's landslide victory, suspense over the next chief minister will continue. There are speculations around Devendra Fadnavis taking over the next state chief minister.

However, despite being the largest party with 132 seats and making Devendra Fadnavis a CM candidate, there's no agreement among alliance partners. The BJP has ruled out replicating the Bihar model, where Nitish Kumar was made CM before elections.

Given the decisive results, with the BJP bagging an overwhelming 132 seats, followed by Shiv Sena (57) and NCP (41), it is learnt that the BJP leadership in Delhi is not happy with the “pressure tactics” adopted by Shinde supporters to make him Chief Minister again.

Three days to the results, the Mahayuti is yet to declare its chief ministerial face for Maharashtra. While the BJP leaders are backing Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena is pushing for Eknath Shinde’s name.
