Scottie Scheffler matched his own course record Friday at Memorial Park to take the clubhouse lead at the Texas Children's Houston Open. Scheffler carded eight birdies and no bogeys for a 62 in the second round.

Scottie Scheffler took a big step towards getting his first of the 2025 season in Friday's second round of the Texas Children's Houston Open.

Of the many guys attempting to establish themselves as a for-real contenders for the Texas Children’s Houston Open title over the first 18 holes in the wind and rain at Memorial Park Thursday, only one of them appeared unfazed by the tempest hammering the course.

Scheffler began the third round with a one-shot lead and was stuck in neutral at Memorial Park, making birdie only on the par 5s and missing a few par putts in the 6-foot range to fall five shots behind with a 69.
