Lois the elephant was euthanized Tuesday after suffering escalating health issues, according to officials with the Kansas City Zoo.

Lois, an African elephant who has called the Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium home for more than 40 years, has died.

A going-away party themed after the 1980s TV cop drama, "Miami Vice," will be held in late October for the lion brothers at the Phoenix Zoo.

Boo at the Zoo returns to the Topeka Zoo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The zoo then shifts its focus to Zoo Lights, opening Nov. 21.

"Sensory Night" will be held Wednesday at the Memphis Zoo during Zoo Boo's regular hours, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. "This year, we are proud to host our first-ever Sensory Night tomorrow on October 22, created to provide a supportive and inclusive experience for guests of all abilities," the zoo said in a post to their X page.
