A key runway at Newark Liberty International Airport, which has been under construction for months causing significant delays and cancelations, will reopen on Monday, June 2.

Runway 4L-22R will continue to be closed on weeknights through the end of the year, and on weekends, from September through December to allow workers to complete the rehabilitation project by replacing lighting and illuminated runway directional signs by the end of 2025, officials said.
