Jim Carrey has said in the past he was probably done with the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise, but now says he has a good reason for changing his mind.

Carrey has multiple roles in “Sonic the Hedgehog 3, ” and also portrays his villain’s grandfather, Gerald Robotnik. Director Jeff Fowler told SFX magazine in November, “For him to create a whole new character within the world was certainly an exciting opportunity, and he just went all in.”

The blockbuster franchise has made a lot of it. Jim Carrey has revealed just what motivated him to reprise his role as the villainous Dr. Robotnik in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 — and it has nothing to with the awesome facial hair.
