Capitals defenseman Jakob Chychrun has been named the NHL’s Third Star for the week ending Dec. 1, the NHL announced today.

The Capitals put together a perfect 4-0-0 week with wins over the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. Two of Chychrun’s goals count

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes has been named the NHL's Second Star of the Week. Between November 25 and December 1, Hughes recorded eight assists and nine points over a four-game span. Macklin Celebrini of the San Jose Sharks was named the week's First Star, while Jakob Chychrun of the Washington Capitals took home Third Star honours.

Jakob Chychrun won it for Washington with his seventh goal of the season at 1:20 of the extra session. And just as they did two nights earlier in Tampa, Dylan Strome and Tom Wilson scored massive third-period goals to get the game to overtime. Wilson’s third-period goal was his second of the game.

San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini was named NHL first star of the week Monday after recording seven points over four games.
