Winger Ian Hunter, who was picked for the 1993 Lions tour to New Zealand, said he discovered his selection "on Ceefax... sitting on my own starring at the TV, waiting for page one to move to page two". Ceefax was a teletext service that allowed people to check the latest BBC news and sport via their televisions.

While most of the players are in the dark over their selection status, the British and Irish Lions captain is now fully aware of his place. Maro Itoje is set to be unveiled as the 2025 skipper after an outstanding Six Nations as leader of England.

Maro Itoje becomes the 47th Lions captain since 1888, the first Black player to captain the side and only the third Englishman in the last 89 years to be appointed tour leader.
