Two Indianapolis police officers are set to stand trial in the death of Black man after being shocked with a Taser and restrained during a mental health crisis in his parents' home.

The trial of two Indianapolis police officers charged with involuntary manslaughter in Herman Whitfield III's death begins, with jury proceedings expected to last five days.

Herman Whitfield III died after being restrained face down and naked in April 2022. Officers Steven Sanchez and Adam Ahmad were indicted in his death.
