With rumours abound that Verstappen could be tempted to join Mercedes for F1 2026, he was once again questioning the performance of his Red Bull following Friday practice at Silverstone

Max Verstappen has confirmed his plans for 2026 after questions were raised over his F1 future heading into the British Grand Prix. Toto Wolff and George Russell confirmed Mercedes' interest in Verstappen at the Austrian GP, where they claimed conversations had taken place about a potential switch.

Max Verstappen was hamstrung by balance issues during what he described as “quite a bad” opening day of the British Grand Prix weekend. The Red Bull driver languished in 10th place in first practice at Silverstone, more than half a second off the pace set by Ferrari rival Lewis Hamilton.
