Neil Druckmann, the co-creator of "The Last of Us" announced on Instagram that he's left the show before work starts on season three.

Neil Druckmann, the creator of video game “The Last of Us,” is taking a step back from HBO’s TV adaptation. Druckmann, who was deeply involved in the first two seasons of the drama series as a co-showrunner alongside Craig Mazin, will be limiting his involvement in the show’s upcoming third season, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap.

In addition, Halley Gross has also announced she will no longer be working on the HBO series. Gross previously co-wrote “The Last of Us Part II” with Druckmann and worked as an executive producer and writer on the HBO series.
