The first No Kings protest in Denver brought out more than 5,000 people to the Colorado State Capitol, and a reported five million people nationally. It was the last major anti-Trump protest in Denver before a clear downturn in attendance in July, August and September.
DENVER ( KDVR) — A “No Kings” protest in downtown Denver is causing road closures and service disruptions. The Denver Police Department said at 12:17 p.m. that Lincoln Street is closed at 14th Avenue and that additional road closures may occur in the area of the State Capitol Building. Alternate routes are advised to avoid traffic delays.
The “No Kings” rally, organized by the Clear Creek Democrats, included both Republicans and Democrats who oppose Trump’s leadership and the direction the country has headed. Demonstrators held signs and American flags and celebrated the Constitution and a welcoming attitude toward immigrants.
Demonstrators gathered in numerous Colorado cities and towns on Saturday as part of a nationwide No Kings protest in opposition to President Donald Trump’s administration. It was expected to be the largest day of anti-Trump demonstrations since June,
DENVER (KDVR) — 12 people have been arrested, with 11 of the arrests connected to “secondary marches” after the “No Kings” rally on Saturday, according to police. “No Kings” rallies were held nationwide and across Colorado, including in downtown Denver and in the area of the Colorado Capitol Building.
The Downtown Denver Partnership, the City and County of Denver, and RTD are hosting a big party for the community to enjoy the completion of this project. This will take place on 16th Street, from Market Street to Broadway, on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
