Apple’s App Store facilitated $1.3 trillion worth of app sales and billings in 2024, and the company stated it took no commission on 90% of that total. The figure comes from a new Apple-commissioned study, released as the company works to portray its platform as profitable for developers and fair in its fee structure.

However, Appfigures’ analysis found the App Store made $61.5 billion globally in 2022, which grew to $91.3 billion in 2024. From this, Apple made more than $27.39 billion in commissions globally last year, Appfigures also said.

A three-judge appeals panel rejected Apple’s request to pause an April 30 order banning the company from charging a fee on in-app iPhone transactions processed outside its once-exclusive payment system in a two-page decision issued late Thursday.
