In 2024, Tennessee's voter turnout was higher than in 2016 and 2012, but lower than 2020. Tennessee continues to lag behind other states when it comes to voter turnout; part of the reason why might be due to the state's policies.

Only a few hundred voters in Nashville voted in the first day of early voting in the special primary Election to replace Rep. Mark Green. In Dickson County, by mid-afternoon, only 83 people voted.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Early voting for the Oct. 7 Special Primary Election to fill the vacancy in the United States House of Representatives, District 7, began Wednesday morning and will run through Oct. 2. Election day will be held Oct. 7.
