The Cajuns hit just five of their final 20 shots and, for the game, went 2 for 18 from 3-point range. Much of the credit for that goes to ODU’s defense, which confounded Louisiana with its defensive switches, kept ball-handlers in front and guarded the 3-point line well all night long.

Old Dominion's previous history in the Sun Belt Tournament had been short, but not all that sweet. Wednesday night saw the Monarchs turn the tide a bit with a little history.

South Alabama is two wins away from somewhere it hasn’t been since many of its players were still riding in car seats. The Jaguars are the No. 1 seed for the Sun Belt Conference tournament, giving them an automatic berth to the semifinals.
