Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show, "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" will be taken off air “indefinitely” after remarks he made Monday about the killing of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, ABC announced Wednesday evening.

Nexstar Media Group said on Wednesday that it will indefinitely preempt broadcasts of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on its ABC affiliates after the late-night host made comments about the suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live will be pre-empted indefinitely," an ABC spokesperson told CBS News in a statement. There was no word on if or when the show may return. ABC's announcement came after media giant Nexstar announced in a news release that it would preempt Kimmel's show indefinitely on all its stations over Kimmel's remarks.
