The U.S. Air Force confirmed Monday that a B-52 bomber involved in near miss with Delta Airlines flight over North Dakota was flying an approved path for a state fair flyover.

A Delta pilot made an aggressive maneuver to avoid hitting a B-52 bomber over North Dakota, with Air Force stating the B-52 was on an approved flight path.

The pilot of a SkyWest flight told passengers that he performed an "aggressive maneuver" to avoid an apparent B-52 military aircraft in-flight, then apologized for the sudden move.

The B-52 crossed the fairgrounds show center at 7:50 p.m. and proceeded west as directed to clear Minot International Tower’s airspace before returning to Minot AFB.
