On Sunday at 3:03 p.m. a high wind warning was issued by the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA valid from Monday 10 p.m. until Wednesday 2 p.m. The warning is for Central Ventura County Valleys, Western San Fernando Valley and Southern Ventura County Mountains.

Officials said there is “significant fire weather ahead of us” as high winds are expected to fuel through Wednesday. The wind-fed wildfires have killed at least 24 people and swept through 40,000 acres in the greater Los Angeles area.

The strongest winds are expected on Tuesday, according to L.A. area fire chiefs. There remains no rain in sight to help temper the flames.

As firefighters continue to battle blazes in multiple fires, more Santa Ana winds in the coming days threaten to increase fire risk.

There has been a reprieve from the strongest winds in southern California, but winds are expected to pick up later into tonight, raising the fire danger.
