The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued winter storm warnings and advisories across seven states: Michigan, Indiana, Alaska, Tennessee, New York, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Blowing snowfall, hazardous travel conditions and reduced visibility are expected in many areas.

Communities around the Great Lakes are in for some extensive snow continuing into Tuesday and temperatures generally in the East are well below normal for the time of year. NBC News meteorologist Michelle Grossman has the latest forecast in Early Today.
