Anthony Santander left Wednesday's game against the San Diego Padres with left hip inflammation, and now the Toronto Blue Jays outfielder will be stashed on the bench Thursday.

Santander has been dealing with some injury issues this season, most notably his left shoulder that has caused some repeated problems throughout the year. Shortly after his removal, the Blue Jays announced an update on Santander, and it was a different injury this time that caused his early exit.

After slashing .235/.308/.506 with 44 homers for the division rival Baltimore Orioles last year, Anthony Santander earned a five-year, $92.5 million deal to join the Blue Jays. Since joining, he's slashing just .182/.264/.308 with 29 hits and 44 strikeouts.
