Thanksgiving was filled with quality time, football games, and rounds of food with an extra side of messy weather.

A high-impact winter storm packing heavy snow and rain has moved into the Northeast, leading to last-minute travel troubles as millions of people across the U.S. gather with family and friends on Thanksgiving to celebrate the holiday.

By noontime, look for heavy rain in southern NH and beginning in southern Maine. Heavy snow is moving into the foothills of western Maine where temperatures are closer to that freezing mark. A defined rain-snow line will build and set-up on the west side of the I-95 corridor. Between 1PM and 8PM will be our worst travel times.

Snow predictions increased to 2 to 6 inches for immediate Albany area, and 5 to 12 inches for higher elevations.

Two separate storm systems carrying heavy rain are expected to impact the busy Thanksgiving holiday travel in New York City, and the second one could even bring some snow to parts of the Tri-State area.

Parts of Massachusetts saw as much as 5 inches of snowfall as a storm drenched the rest of the state with rain on Thanksgiving. While previous forecasts said rain should diminish going into the afternoon or early evening,
