The Supreme Court on Friday upheld a Texas law that requires age verification for pornographic websites in one of the most closely watched First Amendment cases to arrive at the high court in years.

An Indiana law requiring adult websites to verify user ages can stay in place after the nation’s highest court affirmed a similar restriction in Texas.

Plaintiffs argued the law violated people’s privacy rights and could be used to restrict media, such as R-rated movies.
