The Atlantic Coast Conference levied fines against North Carolina and rival NC State on Monday, in the wake of a wild postgame skirmish that mirrored other ugly, unsportsmanlike endings across college football over the weekend.

The Big Ten Conference has fined Michigan and Ohio State $100k each for their involvement in Saturday’s postgame brawl, the conference announced.

Nobody thought it was possible, but it happened. Ohio State had the better team, had the home-field advantage and had all the momentum. But the Buckeyes also had all the pressure, were out-coached and simply outplayed for 60 minutes of football against an underwhelming Michigan team.
