With runners on first and third, Pearson hit a run-scoring single to give LSU a 6-5 lead. A two-run single from Utah Valley transfer Daniel Dickinson then grew the Tigers' advantage to 8-5 before freshman right-hander Casan Evans closed out the victory in the bottom of the 10th.

LSU baseball travelled to Frisco, Texas for the Frisco College Baseball Classic where they took on the Kansas State Wildcats in the first game of the weekend. After a back-and-forth game, LSU came out on top 8-5 in extra innings.
