Senators are trying to get the U.S. House of Representatives to pass their bipartisan legislation to boost privacy and safety for children online before the holiday break.

The Connecticut senator argued time is of the essence on an issue where children’s and teenagers’ health and lives can be at risk.

With just weeks left to pass legislation before Congress adjourns, X CEO Linda Yaccarino announced she worked with the authors of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) to update the bill in what seems like a play to win over the Republican House leaders standing in the way of it becoming law.

Designed as a set of social networking protections for children, the Kids Online Safety Act has won the support of some 240 organizations.
