Avoid traffic jams before they occur — 16 closures are scheduled for roadwork on provincial highways in Niagara on Jan. 11, 2025: Highway 406 northbound between Westchester Avenue and 4th Ave, St. Catharines: one left lane closed from Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. until Jan. 24 at 7 a.m.

Expect delays, especially during heavy traffic periods — 12 closures are scheduled for roadwork on provincial highways in Toronto on Jan. 11, 2025: Highway 409 westbound between 401 and Shaft Road, Toronto: one left lane closed from Jan. 13 at 11 p.m. until Jan. 17 at 6 a.m.

Officials are asking people to avoid the roads still open near the fire areas if possible, especially in West Los Angeles.

Firefighters are battling several major fires that include the Palisades Fire west of Los Angeles, the Eaton Fire north of Pasadena, and the Hurst Fire in the San Fernando Valley.
