After a wet and messy Monday, South Florida woke to a drier start on Tuesday. Temperatures ranged from the low 60s inland to the mid to upper 60s along the coast in Broward and Miami-Dade due to a northern breeze. It was a milder start for the Keys with the temperatures low 70s.

Rain will stick around all day Monday in Central Florida as consistent showers move through the region. Up to an inch of rain is forecast for most locations, while pockets of locally heavy rain could produce 2+ inches, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne.

NEXT Weather meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez said widespread rain, which arrived late morning, would last through the afternoon and into the evening. She said some of the heaviest downpours will be over the Florida Keys. There was potential for 1-2 inches of rain with locally higher amounts in and around some of the heavier storms.

A freeze warning is in effect for Marion County until 9 a.m. Friday as Central Florida wakes up to the coldest temps of the month. Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s but feel a lot more like the 30s. Because of the cold, the First Warning Weather Team is calling for Impact Weather until 9 a.m.
