2 dead after car slams into light pole in Elk Grove identified

Two people were killed in a solo car crash Tuesday morning in Elk Grove, officials said. Emergency medical services were dispatched around 5:03 a.m. to northbound Waterman Road, just south of Sheldon Road. A 21-year-old man driving a car lost control and hit a light pole on the east side of the road, the Elk Grove Police Department said.
