Fighting along the Thai-Cambodian border came to a halt Tuesday after military commanders from both countries met to enforce a ceasefire agreement reached a day earlier.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he had instructed his trade team to resume negotiations on trade with Thailand and Cambodia after the two nations agreed to a ceasefire.

"The U.S. already flunked the test and that should be a wakeup call," a former senior U.S. State Department official told Newsweek.
