The UCF Knights face a $100,000 Big 12 fine after video captured fans chanting a discriminatory phrase about Mormons before the BYU Cougars game.

UCF fined $100K by Big 12 over discriminatory fan chants aimed at BYU
The University of Central Florida has been fined $100,000 by the Big 12 Conference for derogatory chants fans made against BYU during a football game last Saturday.
The Big 12 this week has another Top 25 matchup with No. 22 Arizona going to No. 13 Texas Tech. Also Saturday in the league, Cincinnati hosts No. 6 Utah
The Big 12 had a terrible, no good, very bad day of football. In the afternoon slate, we saw two Big 12 teams go down to unranked conference opponents. Texas Tech lost to unranked Cincinnati on the road 37-24.
Utah leads the league as Oklahoma State, Arizona, BYU and Texas Tech battle for a spot in the Big 12 football championship game.
BYU is No. 2, and the Big 12 now has five teams in the AP Top 25. The conference has become one of the biggest beneficiaries of a chaotic weekend.
The Big 12 takes a case-by-case approach when deciding whether to issue punishment. The standard fine is $50,000.
