Astronomer has broken its silence with its first comment on CEO Andy Byron being accused in a viral Coldplay video scandal. On July 18, the company released its first full statement on the matter. On July 19, the company announced that Byron has resigned.

In an email to the Globe, an Astronomer spokesperson said that company leaders “are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

Kristin Cabot, caught in a viral embrace with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, appears to be married to Privateer Rum founder Andrew Cabot, a member of a prominent Boston family.

Astronomer's interim CEO Pete DeJoy said in an update that the startup had "received a level of media attention that few companies" ever encounter.
