Medical students who survived when an Air India plane crashed into their hostel say their first reaction was to help treat the injured
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) summoned the executives of Air India and Air India Express on Monday, amid the probe investigating the crash of Air India Flight 171 and ongoing disruptions on its flight network. DGCA has summoned the executives in a virtual meeting that will be chaired by DG Fazi Ahmed Kidwai.

At least 270 died when the Air India flight crashed into the campus of a medical college in Ahmedabad shortly after takeoff on Thursday. Only one passenger among the 242 aboard survived. At least 29 others on the ground, including five medical students inside the hostel, were also killed.
India saw one of its worst aviation disasters, in which at least 270 people were killed, last week and new evidence indicates that both engines of the plane may have failed.
