The first Nor'easter of the season is moving up the East Coast, potentially hitting the Cape late Sunday or early Monday. Forecasters say the storm could impact from Florida to Massachusetts, which could mean some of the highest tides of the season. This week, the region experienced King Tides, amplified by the Harvest moon.
A freeze watch has been issued for much of New England, including parts of Massachusetts, ahead of an expected temperature drop. The watch is in effect for parts of Middlesex, Hampden, Hampshire, Worcester, Norfolk, Bristol, Plymouth, Dukes, and Berkshire counties from Thursday night into Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
Flights heading to Logan were facing ground delays of about three hours on average, while flights departing Boston were delayed up to an hour.
AccuWeather released its winter forecast for the 2025-2026 season, and Massachusetts residents are in for a snowy one. The forecasting website has predicted the Boston region will experience more snow than last year, though it may still be less snow than the historical average.
