It’s only two days before Denver’s average first snowfall – and we’ve got tornado warnings on the Eastern Plains.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several counties in the far Eastern Plains of Colorado — a warning that includes the potential for tornadoes.

Unlike most tornado surveys done in person by the NWS, this tornado was confirmed with the help of satellite photos that showed the path of downed trees.

The Denver area saw roughly 1.28 inches of rain on Tuesday, breaking the previous record of 0.83 inches was set in 2017, according to weather service data.
